The Annual Report of the Police Superintendents’ Association of England and Wales for the financial year 2011-2012 has been published.
The last year has been a successful year for the Association with significant changes to the way that the Association conducts its business on behalf of its members.
The President Derek Barnett said:
“The strength of the Association lies with an active and inclusive membership and once again I have been impressed by the willingness of members to engage with the Branch, District and Business Areas. These are the very foundation of our Association and are what I believe makes us such an influential professional body in policing.”
“As well as engaging with a wide range of partners and stakeholders, it will be vitally important that we continue to maintain our fraternal relationships with sister Associations in Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Garda Siochana as well as our colleagues in the Diversity Staff Support Associations. In particular we must continue to forge close working relationships with our colleagues in the Police Federation and ACPO to ensure a united and confident Service-wide voice. You have my commitment that I and the other National Officers will continue to robustly but constructively seek to represent the views of all the members of the Association during what will be demanding and challenging times.”
