We recognise that from time to time our members or their families may seek counselling support outside of the work environment. There are a number of websites that can assist in identifying a suitable counsellor and the details of some are provided below.
Please note that the Association does not recommend any particular service but merely seeks to signpost members to them. It is down to members to assure themselves of the qualifications and accreditation of any services they choose to use.
At the Refer Self Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice (RSCPP) all therapists are Accredited/Chartered/Registered by professional bodies. RSCPP was founded and is run by a former accredited therapist who possesses an in depth knowledge of therapy. RSCPP has a website that helps in finding a local service and it can be accessed here.
Alternatively Counselling Directory is a confidential service that encourages those in distress to seek help. The directory contains information on many different types of distress, as well as articles, news, and events. To ensure the professionalism of the website, all counsellors have provided the Counselling Directory with qualifications and insurance cover or proof of membership with a professional body. Access to the Counselling Directory can be found here.
