Welcome to the Police Superintendents’ Association of England and Wales which represents the interests of more than 1,600 Superintendents and Chief Superintendents. Association members work in all of the 43 Home Office police forces across England and Wales, the British Transport Police, the Civil Nuclear Constabulary and Isle of Man Constabulary.

Our broad objectives as a staff association are as follows: 

• To lead and develop the Police Service to improve the quality of our service delivery to local communities.
•  To influence practice, policy, and decision making at Chief Officer and Government level.
•  To provide appropriate support and advice to members regarding conditions of service

Authorised Professional Practice May Update

The latest ACPO/NPIA update on Authorised Professional Practice (APP) which outlines the schedule for implementation is now available. The PSAEW supports the APP programme and we have a representative on the Professional Practice Steering Group chaired by CC Sara Thornton.
