Police officers, staff and volunteers from across the country have been recognised in the King’s Birthday Honours

Police officers, staff and volunteers from across the country have been recognised in the King’s Birthday Honours.

Individuals from all ranks, and performing a wide range of roles within the policing family, have been awarded honours for their services to policing.

Those recognised include current and retired members of the Police Superintendents’ Association, including senior officers who have played key roles within the association.

President of the Police Superintendents’ Association, Paul Fotheringham, said: “On behalf of all at the Police Superintendents’ Association, I would like to congratulate every member of the police family who has been named in the first King’s Birthday Honours.

“To work in policing is a privilege, but requires sacrifice and dedication unlike many other roles.  This royal recognition is therefore a fitting tribute to the incredible efforts of the many people receiving these honours.

“It is fantastic to see two senior officers who have played influential roles within our association amongst those recognised. Chief Superintendent Emily Higham of Greater Manchester Police and retired Chief Superintendent Dave Sturman, formerly of West Midlands Police, have both dedicated a huge amount of time to our association and their colleagues.
